Come with me on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth as we head to one of the most beautiful places on the earth- Sri Lanka.
On the tranquil shores of Koggala lake in Duwa village lies a beautiful eco-friendly and serene hideaway that allows you to connect with nature in a profound and spiritual way. Everyday you will wake up to the sounds of the wildlife that call this place their home. Over the course of our seven days together we will dive deep into body and mind thru the five elements of nature - Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space together. In the morning you have a dynamic, creative and intelligent vinyasa practice and in the afternoon a slow & restorative practice. some days there will be a workshop in the afternoon exploring a theme or physical aspect of the yogic practice. In between practices you can either chill by the pool, go to the beach, surf or go on adventure to temples, head on a safari or try an Ayurvedic massage on site.

The Yoga Teachings
Marie-Louise teaches everything from ecstatic vinyasa to floaty slow flows and nourishing restorative yoga. She is mostly known for teaching her signature class - the Awakened Flow - an alignment based, creative, intelligent and transformative flow style class, sending students into deep states of flow. She often likes to incorporate the elements of nature into her classes along with the teachings of meditation and mindfulness, especially in her slow flow and restorative classes. At retreats she incorporates sacred rituals and ceremonies.
She is passionate about conveying yogic philosophy in an understandable and pragmatic way so as for her students to implement them in their daily lives. She sees yoga as a deep spiritual practice that is meant to make you feel free mentally, emotionally and energetically .

E.g. trip to the beach for a surf lesson, a cooking class, or excursion or something else. You have the option to join, or enjoy time relaxing by the pool.

Lunch is served at one, with an option to eat here or get your lunch packed to take it with you if you're off on an adventure.
2:00-4:00pm I Free time or workshop
One day there might an immersive yoga workshop in this time slot.
4:00-6:00 pm | Evening class
Although mostly starting with movement, the afternoon practice is bit different to the mornings. It's often with more of a relaxation focus. Experimenting with Yoga Nidra, principals of restorative yoga and even some pranayama.
6:30 pm onwards | Dinner and Free Time
After dinner, you have the evening to yourself. You can choose to explore the local area, relax, or unwind with your fellow guests. We have a variety of books and board games available, and on some evenings.

BRING YOUR KIDS
We love kids. In fact our own kids will be at the retreat and for the first time we open up for you bringing your kids to our retreats.
The way it works is that during yoga and meditation session we have Mik (my husband), who btw. is a really fun, sweet and loving guy, looking after your kids. During these times he might take them to the beach, play with them by the pool or engage in treasure hunting and games.
The only demand is that your kids is above four years old and don’t need diaper change or feeding.
Be mindful and respectful of solo travellers, couples and friends are participating.
LOCATION
On the southern coast of Sri Lanka, nestled in a serene setting surrounded by lush greenery lies your tranquil retreat spot overlooking the stunning Koggala lake. From every room you have the view over the lake and you might just spot crocodiles, sea eagles and other animals that call the area their home. The actual retreat venue is generously spaced with open plan living, nooks and crannies, yoga spaces, gardens, a substantial vegetable garden and more.
Within a five-minute drive or 20-minute walk from the venue, you'll find Habaraduwa beach, a picturesque stretch of sand ideal for a peaceful stroll. Ten-minutes away you have Kabalana surf beach - a world famous surf spot. 30 minutes away is the small city of Galle wherre you'll find shopping, dining, and sightseeing options, including the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. About two and a half hours drive away you will find Colombo and the international airport. As you ride the new freeway to the venue, you'll be greeted by sweeping vistas of the Sri Lankan countryside, a feast for the eyes and a peaceful prelude to your retreat.

MARIE-LOUISE STRØYBERG
Marie-Louise is a certified E-RYT 500 yoga teacher with more than 10 years of teaching experience. She got most of her yoga training from New York where she lived and taught for 7 years. She is educated a meditation teacher and has held and holds yoga trainings, retreats, workshops and events in Copenhagen, where she is now based with her family. She teaches online through her channel - The Awakened Flow Club and is additionally the creator of 'The Self Practice Mastery Course', a transformative five month course that takes students through a deep journey of establishing their own spiritual home practice - a Sādhanā.
Marie-Louise teaches everything from ecstatic vinyasa to floaty slow flows and nourishing restorative yoga. She is mostly known for teaching her signature class - the Awakened Flow - an alignment based, creative, intelligent and transformative flow style class, sending students into deep states of flow. She is moreover a prenatal and postpartum yoga teacher as well as trained to do yoga with baby. She regularly takes new courses and trainings to deepen and expand her own inner world.
Besides this she is also the owner of Mind-Your Business - a corporate moving mindfulness concept that brings yoga, meditation and mindfulness to Danish companies. Through Mind - Your Business she also does company talks on how to unlock deep states of work-related flow as well as how to manage stress.
She spends most of her days teaching 1:1 yoga programs as well as 1:1 stress management to employees, who seek concrete tools and exercises to navigate and manage a busy work life. Something Marie-Louise herself has had close experience with after working 10 years in the consulting and advertising business navigating a stressful everyday work life herself.
She is dedicated to creating deep eye-opening, mind-body experiences to her students as well as sharing and conveying yogic knowledge, concepts and concrete exercises to enhance people’s experience of living authentic and meaningful lives.
